A family-owned food business is seeking an experienced Food Safety Systems Technologist to join their Technical Team. The Food Safety Systems Technologist will report to the Technical Manager and the key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, maintaining, reviewing, and continually improving the documented Food Safety Management System to ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, relevant legislation, and customer requirements; leading the Food Safety Team in line with FSSC 22000 requirements and facilitating monthly team meetings; coordinating and documenting hazard analysis, risk assessments, and HACCP plans; facilitating internal and external audits, including certification and customer audits, together with the Technical Team; supporting cross-functional teams with food safety and quality training and awareness; collaborating closely with production, NPD, and technical teams to identify and mitigate food safety risks; investigating customer complaints and providing feedback; and assisting with Occupational Health and Safety System implementation in collaboration with the Technical Manager and external consultant. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work effectively within a cross-functional team and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment, while staying organized, focused on key details, and maintaining the structure of the food safety management system. |
| Key Requirements: |
B.Tech in Food Technology, B.Sc. in Food Science, or similar, a minimum of 4 years’ technical experience in an FSSC 22000 certified (or equivalent, e.g., BRC, IFS, ISO 22000) food production environment. The candidate should have received Food Safety Management System training from a recognised external institution, while knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and experience with the Woolworths FPI system would be advantageous. A valid driving license and own transport is essential. |
