| Description: |
An innovative company in the steel manufacturing industry is looking for a Draughtsman to join their team. Key duties will include: Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings from concept designing, rendering, detail designing to compilation of complete 3D manufacturing drawings for each design. Interpret client requirements and translate design concepts into production-ready drawings. Work closely with the Design and Production Teams to ensure technical feasibility and manufacturability. Update and maintain the drawing register and documentation control systems. Revise and rework existing designs based on client or production feedback. Provide technical support during the production process. Conduct site measurements or assist with prototyping when required. Liaise with suppliers regarding component specifications and materials when necessary. Research and design of new concepts or products. Product development of current products. Technical support to the sales and manufacturing teams. Cost estimations of old and new designs. Comparisons of estimated versus actual costs upon the completion of a project. |
| Key Requirements: |
Mechanical Draughting qualification with at least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial design environment. Microsoft Ofiice as well as AutoCAD or Inventor proficiency is essential. A solid understanding of steel structures, joinery, plumbing, 12V electrical installations, solar panels and mechanical components required. Knowledge of SANS standards and compliance codes will be beneficial. Valid driver’s license and own transport essential. |
