Description: A design engineering company with a focus in the automotive industry is seeking an Industrial Simulation Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing models for automotive production lines as well as the transition of engineering design and data into production. The duties will include, but are not limited to, designing developing, and validating simulation models for automotive production lines using Simio; collecting and analysing production data to inform simulation model parameters; identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in production lines; interpreting simulation results, to provide actionable insights and recommendations for process improvements; working closely with production, engineering, and management teams to understand requirements and objectives; presenting simulation results and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner; participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance simulation accuracy and effectiveness; preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate project outcomes and insights; and transitioning engineering designs and data into production, ensuring seamless integration and implementation.
Key Requirements: BEng degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering and more than 2 years’ postgraduate experience in developing and implementing simulation models for manufacturing processes, preferably in the automotive industry. Proficiency in using simulation software such as Simio, while experience with other simulation tools like Arena, FlexSim, or AnyLogic would be advantageous. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production line dynamics, and lean manufacturing principles; be proficient in data analysis and statistical methods; have advanced Microsoft Excel and simulation software skills; and be willing to travel overseas.
