A global technology consulting company that provides technology services to a product engineering and development company in the automotive field is seeking a PLM & CAD Administrator to join their team. The PLM & CAD Administrator will support engineering operations from the Cape Town office. You will manage, maintain, and optimize our PLM and CAD systems, working closely with global IT and engineering teams in the U.S. and Costa Rica. The PLM environment is a multi-location, multi-country deployment, which requires strong coordination skills and awareness of distributed infrastructure, user bases, and compliance requirements. This is a hands-on, end-user support role requiring strong technical skills, system administration experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams. You will also be expected to support advanced initiatives, including digitalization, automation, and AI-driven engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, installing, configuring, and maintaining PLM and CAD environments to ensure stability and performance; managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls; monitoring and troubleshooting system performance, workflows, and CAD integrations; partnering with engineering teams to recommend process and efficiency improvements; deploying and managing upgrades, patches, and updates; tracking and optimizing engineering software license usage; developing and maintaining documentation, best practices, and training materials; collaborating with U.S.- and Costa Rica–based, as well as other IT and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve systems; supporting advanced IT and engineering initiatives, including AI, digital transformation, and process automation projects; and staying current with PLM/CAD advancements, best practices, and IT infrastructure trends. |
| Key Requirements: |
A degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Information Technology; strong knowledge of PLM and CAD systems; proficiency in system troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance optimization; a solid understanding of IT systems, networking, and security principles; hands-on experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter; a solid understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices; and experience with Teamcenter Change Management and Workflows, managing multi-site environments, and supporting teams in a product development environment. |
